Our continuing support for the Jessie May Foundation
Launched in 1996 by Chris and Philippa Purrington, The Jessie May Foundation provides specialised at home nursing and respite care for children and young people living with terminal or life-limiting conditions all over the South West. Chris and Philippa’s baby daughter, Jessica May, passed away in September 1994 from severe Spinal Muscular Atrophy at only 4 and a half months old. Prior to this, Jessica was admitted to a local children’s hospital in Southmead during a family visit in Bristol, and this was when Chris and Philippa discovered that the remarkable support they had received in High Wycombe wasn't accessible to families caring for their children at home in the Bristol area. Following Jessica’s death, the Purrington’s devoted their lives to making sure that families in similar situations to theirs, could access the support they need in their own homes, whilst simultaneously providing the option to die peacefully and comfortably at home when the time comes.
At Carite Ltd, our bond with the Jessie May Foundation runs deep. Our commitment to donating £25 for every car we sell isn't just a one-time gesture, it's an ongoing promise. We've formed an unbreakable connection with Jessie May, and supporting their cause indefinitely is something we can't imagine not doing.
The work Jessie May does for families with terminally ill children resonates profoundly with us. Their dedication aligns perfectly with our values of compassion and community support. Witnessing the impact of our contributions firsthand has solidified our commitment to stand by them for the long haul.
We're proud to make a difference through our partnership. Choosing Carite means not just a great car but also contributing to essential support, care, and comfort for those in need. Our ongoing support for Jessie May is a crucial part of our company's mission, and we're grateful to our customers for being part of this impactful journey with us.
